The newly established 2023 team will soon call a new HQ in Berlin, Germany their home as EXCEL bolsters its performance and media creation infrastructure
London, 12th December 2022: British competitive gaming culture brand EXCEL ESPORTS is pleased to announce its roster for the 2023 League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) season. Joining veteran Bot Laner Patrik "Patrik" Jírů, who has been a constant driving force for the team since 2019, is Andrei “Odoamne” Pascu, Andrei “Xerxe” Dragomir, Vincent “Vetheo” Berrié, and Raphaël "Targamas" Crabbé.
With this latest round of signings, EXCEL hopes to build upon its success in the previous Spring and Summer Splits, where it finished fifth and sixth place, respectively.
The new line-up has already proved to be formidable, as Vetheo was named MVP in the LEC 2022 Spring Season, with the most eliminations in the league, and Targamas supported his former team G2 Esports in becoming champions of the LEC 2022 Summer Season in what was his very first year in the competition.
The team is also backed by former Astralis Jungler Xerxe, who has been competing in major global League of Legends tournaments since 2016, and Odoamne, another veteran and former 2022 LEC Summer Season champion, who has competed in 478 games across his decorated career. These players are joined by Patrik, who has remained a core part of the team and has helped push EXCEL to new heights since joining in 2019.
EXCEL can also reveal that it has invested in a new HQ for the team located in Berlin, Germany that will help to support its development and performance in future competitions. This HQ will act as a homebase for the team and its resources will be used for training and creating media content. More details on the new HQ will be released in the future.

"Whilst we are proud of how we performed this year, we believe that this new roster has what it takes to help fulfil our vision of being a top three ranking team in the 2023 season. Players such as Vetheo and Odoamne represent such a diverse mix of talent, and we can’t wait to see how the team will perform when unified together under the EXCEL brand starting with the Winter Season early next year."
